Wednesday of review: Epic Fail by Claire

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my review of this book

Epic Fail

What would you do if you had to change of High School and start a new one with all the high society? would you get into the world of fancy cars, film starts and flashes?

Well, this is more or less what the main character, Elise has to figure out.

What this book is about?

It's about a girl who moves to another town with her sisters and her parents to another place where everything is more expensive, more fashionable and more interesting than the town they come.

What I liked:

The main character, Elise. She is very funny, sarcastic and very intelligent. She made laugh out loud, she is hilarious.

The story. It was very engaging from the very beginning. The more I read the more I wanted to know. I think it's funny and at the same time deep with some topics.

The nice job the author did with this novel. The novel is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice and I think she nails it although I think it's a thing really really difficult to do. Everything fits perfectly and I believe it's how things will happen in her novel if Jane Austen had lived our age.

What I didn't like:

NOTHING. It was so great than I couldn't change anything, but If I had to say something would be the fact that I don't have curfews, so for me it was strange the main character said she had to go home because of the curfew. I had to remember how it was like since I am not a teenager any more.

If you have read this book, maybe you'd like these books:

Austenland (Austenland, #1)Bridget Jones's Diary (Bridget Jones, #1)Lola and the Boy Next Door

Overall: I highly recommend this book. It was a great read. it was funny, entertaining, cute and deep. I really enjoyed it.

So, what do you think? Do you want to read it? or have you already read it? If so, did you like it? Please, let me know in the comments and don't forget to share yours! :D

Top Ten Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!!

So today I want to share with you the authors whose books I'd put on my auto-buy list no matter what the book is about since I love them so much :)

John Green

John Green. I think John Green is a great author and he writes different from the rest of the authors I'm used to reading. The books are always full of funny remarks and interesting characters. It's impossible not to fall in love with his work and yes, I'd definitely added to my auto-buy list without second thoughts.

Jill Shalvis

Jill Shalvis.I really love all Jill Shalvis' books. In fact I've bought all Lucky Habour series. So yes, if I saw a book written by Jill, I'd definitely bought it.

Sarah Dessen

Sarah Dessen. I've only read one of her books, but I think she is a really good author. Just since the beginning of the book I thought it'd be a different type of book and the way she wrote it, made me want to read more and more.

Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman. I'm very fond of Neil Gaiman's books because they're the first books I read in English and I could understand more or less all the words and enjoy with the story. I love all of them because they are strange and peculiar. Everyone is different and entertaining. Yes, I'd get more books by Neil Gaiman. I never get tired of them.

Paul Auster

Paul Auster. My sister introduced me ten years ago and he's been in my life since then. His world is a world which I love so much because it's full of books, bookshops, libraries and writings. I've read most of his work and I think I'd buy a book, just because he's written.

Ann Brashares

Ann Brashares. I love Ann Brashares very much because she's made my life happier since I read her sisterhood of the travelling pants books. They are great books with deep thought and stuff like death, friendship, love, divorce, marriage, everything all together. So, yes, I'd go for a book just because of her.

Claire LaZebnik

Claire LaZebnik. I have already read one of her books, Epic Fail, and I really want to read more books by her. I think since I loved so much Epic Fail grabbing any other book by her and buy it right away.

Stephanie Perkins

Stephanie Perkins. I really love all the books by Stepahie Perkins. They are sweet and cute. She's going to release one book soon and I'm preparing to buy it. So, yes, I'd take any book by her without thinking it.

David LevithanRachel Cohn

David levithan and Rachel Cohn. Oooo I'm a huge fan of the books by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. I've bought the three books they have together and I hope they're still collaborating because they write amazing books. So, yes, I'd add them to the list.

David Safier

David Safier.I've read 3 books by him and I really really enjoyed it. He is the author who I go when I feel a bit sad because his stories are always entertaining and very funny. So, yes, if I found a book by David Safier I'd put on my list.

Well, these are my authors, but what are yours? Do you know them? Do you like their books? Have you added them to your list too? Let me know in the comments and tell me about yours :)

It's Monday! What are you reading?

                                              hosted by : Book Journey

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today I want to share with you the books I read last week, the books I'm reading now and the books I'm going to read next.

Last week I finished THREE books

Austenland (Austenland, #1)

Austenland by Shannon Hale. I really liked this book. Sometimes it was so great than I couldn't stop reading it, but other times I found it a bit boring. I don't know if it was me because I couldn't understand all the words, but anyway, it was an enjoyable read.

Just Listen

Just listen by Sarah Dessen. I really loved this book although it took me some time to read it because of the hard stuff. But, I enjoyed it very much and I highly recommend it because it was a great read.

Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor, #3)

Head over heels by Jill Shalvis. This one was a perfect treat. The romance was cute and adorable. I think this is the romance I loved the most of the three books I've read in the series. I think they are great together :)

Now I'm reading

Fever Pitch

Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. I don't know if I'm going to love this one because I don't like football (soccer) very much, but we'll see.

Next

The Yellow World

The yellow world by Albert Espinosa. Albert Espinosa is an Spanish author who suffered from cancer. He had had some operations and I think he has got over cancer. But this book is not about that. It's about a yellow world. I'm curious what the yellow world is and I really want to read it because everybody is saying he's a great author.

Well, this is my books. have you read them? If so did you like them or not? Please let me know in the comments and don't forget to share yours!

IMM: The one with the Spanish classic

                                            hosted by: The Story Siren

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you the book I bought the other day in a second hand bookshop.

It's a Spanish classic which I haven't read yet (I know :( ) I've read a version for children which I don't know if it is  this story exactly or not. We'll see.

The name in English for this book, I think, is  The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes.

So what do you think of this book? Did you know it? Do you want to read it or not? Let me know in the comments and Please share your books! :D

Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor, #3)

I like it, but I think I loved more the second book  in the series. This one I think I love the romance more than the other two books in the series, I think they are adorable together, but the rest of the story, mmm, it's not so interesting that in the others two books. But, anyway, I'm enjoying it very much. I love Jill Shalvis books and I'm glad that I knew them :)

Love-a-thon: Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl

hosted by: Alexa Loves Books

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you the interview I did to Jana@ That Arty Reader Girl. I think it's a bit late and I hope it's still in the love-a-thon.  I don't know why, but I totally forgot the Love-a-thon was today. I'm so so sorry I'm posting this so late. I think Jana's blog deserves more attention and I think I am not giving the promotion she deserves :(

Anyway, here are my questions and her ansers. i hope you guys enjoy it :)

1.- Why did you start blogging?

I absolutely love sharing my love of reading with others. I love recommending things, saving people from buying not so good books, and helping authors get the word out about this books!

2.- What do you like the most about blogging?

Really, it's the people.  I love all the opportunities that come with blogging, including the amazing bloggers I've met, all the books I've been introduced to, and the supportive authors and publishers I've been able to interact with. We bloggers are members of a very awesome club!

3.- Why did you choose to blog about books instead of something else?

Reading is my favorite thing in the world, and probably the only thing I have TONS to write about. Haha.

4.- Has the way you read changed since you started blogging?

I think it has. I read many more genres than I used to. Honestly, I never thought I'd fall in love with epic fantasy, dystopia, and even contemporary novels! When I started blogging, I loved paranormal romances. Now I'm shying away from it. Plus, I read so much more than I used to!

5.- What are your favourite books?
Tough question! I really really loved Just One Day by Gayle forman. It's absolutely amazing. Unbreak MY Heart by Melissa Walker is also amazing, and really made me think. Then there's Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Austenland by Shannon Hale, Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard, On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves, and so many more! I have a list of favorites on Goodreads, if you're interested! - http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/983479-jana-that-artsy-reader-girl?format=html&shelf=favorites

6.- And what is your most hated book? Or a book you don't like.
It takes a lot to make me hate a book, and I mean a LOT. I think the first book that comes to mind, though, is the Kissed by an Angel series by Elizabeth Chandler. The author had one of her characters brutally murder/torture a kitten, and wrote about it in great detail. It was so upsetting, and I can cry about it now 3 years later. Any author who decides it's necessary to include animal abuse in their book will never grace my bookshelves.

7.- I also love Stephanie Perkins's books. Can you recommend books which are similar to hers?

Hmm… Just one Day by Gayle Forman, The Summer My Life Began by Shannon Greenland. My Ridiculous Romantic Obsessions by Becca Wilhite, and Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard. Those are all really sweet, wonderfully written contemporary romances and I love them all!

8.- I read on your blog you sing. What kind of music do you sing? Are you a professional?

I have been a member of many singing groups in my life, and have also gone through vocal training. I've sung everything from jazz to pop to opera. Besides English, I've sung in Latin, Spanish, French, and Italian. I'm not a professional singer, but I have sung with groups on TV several times (one time for an International broadcast!), gone on tours, and produced CDs. I love singing!

Book Beginnings + The Friday 56

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today I want to share with you the book beginning and the page 56 of this book

Austenland (Austenland, #1)

"IT IS A TRUTH UNIVERSALLY acknowledged that a thirty-something woman in possession of a satisfying career and fabulous hairdo must be in want of very little, and Jane Hayes, pretty enough, was clever enough, was certainly thought to have little to distress her"

hosted by: Rose City Reader

"You're hoping that Amelia Heartwright is an old, unattractive thing and that the boys won't like her at all. Am I right?" Miss Charming bobbed on her toes.

hosted by: Freda's voice

I really like this book. It's an interesting read. It's romantic and the story is really peculiar. I'm just about to finish and now, I can't wait to watch the film :)

Well, this is the book I'm reading now. what do you think? Did you know it? Do you want to give it a try? Let me know in the comments and please share yours! :)

IMM: The one with something borrowed and something blue :)

                                            hosted by: The Story Siren

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today I want to share with you two books I got yesterday.

Summers of the sisterhood: The second summer by Ann Brashare. I saw this one in a library for a reasonable price. So I bought it. I've already read this one and I really liked. I read it in Spanish so maybe I'll have to sacrifice myself and re-read it hehe.

Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. I've only read High Fidelity by this author and I wanted to try to read other books by him. My English teacher lent me this one, so I'm going to read it soon to return it to him. I'll tell my thoughts about it.

Well, these are the books which are in my mailbox. What do you think of them? Do you like them? Have you read them? If so, what did you think about them? Please let me know in the comments and don't forget shares your links! :)

Wednesday of Review

Hi everybody!!! :)

So, today I want to share with you my review of this AWESOME book

Wonderstruck

What would you do if you found clues about your father? Would you try to find him? What would you do if you couldn't hear anything?

Well, this is what's happening to the main characters of the book.

What is this about? It's about two children, one boy and one girl, who live in different cities and in different ages.

What I like: I loved the idea of having two stories, one told with words and the other through pictures (cool huh?)

Also, I like Brian introduced the topic of deafness in that way because I hadn't thought in deafness in such way and the book made me want to look into the matter. Plus, I had never read anything related to the topic and it was a treat to read something different and with other issues from I'm used to reading.

Besides, when you finish the book you feel that you have accomplished an important task because the book is so thick that you think you're not going to finish it, but since it's full with picture you end it quite quickly. I think this is great for children, especially for those who are scared of big volumes. When they finish it they won't be scare to try more books with all the kinds of sizes.

What I don't like: At first, I felt the story was a bit slow, but it was just at the beginning because once I knew the character better and the story was set, I couldn't barely stop reading it :)

In summary: I really loved this book. It was well-written and the two stories were very interesting. The book is thick, but you can easily read in a day or two. I highly recommend to everyone, but especially to you :D

Well, so these are my thoughts, but what are yours? What do you think of this book? Did you like it? Do you want to read it? Please let me know in the comments and don't forget to share with me your reviews or other post. Thanks! :)

Top Ten Favorite Characters In X Genre

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today i want to share with you my top ten favourite characters in YA genre. I'm totally sure I'm not original choosing the genre, but I think I'm going to pick up different characters from other.

Anyway, here are my favourite characters:

Ladies first

Epic Fail

Elise. She is a great character. She is clever and funny and I love her remarks. I laughed a lot with her.

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #1)

Georgia. This character is similar to Elise because she is also funny, but I think Elise is funnier. Georgia is sometimes a drama queen, but still I love her :)

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood, #1)
Bridget. Although I love Lena's story and she is the person who I think I'm more similar, I prefer Bridget because she is totally different from me. The way she does the things is more impulse, she is not scare of anything and she is very active. I think I've learnt very much with this character because I can understand people who're different from me better and also to do things in a different way.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares
Lily. Ooo the nerdy. I love her because she is so cute and shy and she loves books and writing, so yes, it's difficult not to love her.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
Hadley. I like Hardley because I remember her as a character who thought about stuff. She thought about her life and her reactions, what she's going to do next. Although she was also impulse, I think she was very mature.

Ah, the guys

Anna and the French Kiss St Clair. Or what he likes I call him Étienne ;-) ;-) hehe. Reading St Clair's description it's really hard not to fall in love with this guy. He is cute and nice. He treats people well as long as they are nice people. He is intelligent and funny. Please tell me who does like that

An Abundance of Katherines

Colin. I like Colin because he is cute and smart. Maybe he doesn't get when somebody is teasing him, but he is a great guy.

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)Sam. He was my very first crush on a book. I love him because he was loyal and thoughtful. He wants to do things right and he wants to have his dream come true. He fights to have what he wants. He is in Shiver, but in the other two books in the series, he is OK.

Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1)

Lend. Oooo I love Lend  He is a great guy. He is funny, cute, thoughtful, intelligent, he is not scare of anything, he loves his family. How on earth I was not going to love this character. He is great!

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

Dash. I really love this character. For startest he loves books. Then he loves writing and games. He is cute and adorable. He is not just a guy, he is a guy who is worth meeting.

Well, these are my favourite characters in YA genre. What do you think? Do you like them or not? Please let me know in the comments and don't forget to share yours!

it's Monday! What are you reading?

                                              hosted by : Book Journey

Hi everybody!!! :)

So, today I want to share with you the books I'm reading right now and the books I have the intention to read next.

Now I'm reading
Austenland (Austenland, #1)

So far I like the story. It's entertaining and cute and a bit peculiar since the main character has to travel to England to live for a few weeks as a Jane Austen character. Cool huh?

The story is a bit slow. Maybe I feel this way because I usually read novels which have a lot of action in them, I don't know, but it's worth the effort.

Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor, #3)

I love this book, it's lovely, cute. The main characters are great together and the story is different from the other two books in the series. Maybe this one is a bit sadder than the rest, but it's great and I don't want to finish the book :(

Emma

I really wanted to read Emma because I thought I was going to love it, but it's not what's happening :'( Besides the vocabulary is a bit old-fashion so it's a bit hard to understand the sentence, specially when I'm Spanish, but anyway, everybody's telling this is great and I have to keep reading it, so this is what I'm going to do. I think this is a classic for a reason :)

Next in my pile

Ready Player One

I've heard nothing, but good things about this book. I like video games, but I don't know if this book is going to become one of my favourite books.

Well, these are the books I'm going to spend the week, what do you think of them? Do you like them? Have you read them? If so, do you like them? Please let me know in the comments and don't forget share yours! :)
