April TBR: How I did it :)

Hi everyone!!! :)

This is the last day of the month so it's time to share with you what books I've read in March. This is an idea hosted by Misty over at The book rat.

This is what I intend to read this month:

1.- The hunger games by Suzanne Collins. I've already started and I 'm in the middle of the book. I hope to finish it this month. So far, I like it :)
2.- Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins. I think most of people liked it so it will be strange if I don't like it.
3.- Nick and Norah's infinitive playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. When I read the plot I thought: "I have to have this book, it sounds really good" We'll see.
4.- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
5.- The statistical probability of love at first sight by Jennifer E. Smith. I've heard very good things of this one . Even John Green says this book is really good in one of his videos.
6.- Across the universe by Beth Revis.
7.- Supernaturally by Kiersten White. I liked the first book I hope this one is as funny and entertaining as the previous one :)
Maybes:
8.- The help by Kathryn Stockett.

And this is what I've read.
- Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins. I loved it. At first I was a little disappointing because this book didn't engage my attention from the very beginning as Anna and the French kiss did. But, then, I read a bit more and I started turning pages quickly. I had a good feeling when I finished. I liked even more than Anna and the French kiss.
- Nick and Norah's infinitive playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooved it. It's so beautiful and romantic and everything. this is undoubtedly one of my favourite books. It's so great. I highly recommend it to you. AWESOME!!!

-  Supernaturally by Kiersten White. I liked it this one but it was a bit disappointing. I liked much more the previous book. This one was funny but the previous one was funnier and romantic.

Well, this is me, but what about you? How did you do it?

It's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                       hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everyone!!! :)

It's Monday so it's time to share with you what I read last week, what I'm reading right now and I really, really, really want to read next.

Last week I finished Nick and Norah's infinite playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan and I looooved it. So good that I couldn't believe it! At the very beginning I was a little disappointed thinking that maybe I wasn't going to like it, but that didn't happen. In fact, when I was about to finish it I thought: "I don't want to finish this book, it's so good" Obviously, this is my opinion, maybe you've read it and you don't like. It's OK, I forgive you ;)

Now, I'm reading Dead until dark by Charlaine Harris. I really like it. I think it's very well-written but I don't find it as good as Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. Soooorry. Anyway, I think Charlaine has made a big effort because you can read it easily and it's very entertaining. I can barely put the book down, although at first I got a bit lost with the names of the characters.

Next in my pile is The statistical probability of love at first sight by Jennifer E. Smith. I've heard nothing but great things about this book so I can't wait to read it. Even John Green says it's awesome in this video.

Since today I'm doing this meme. I saw it in this blog : Abducted by books and I liked it. How it works: you only have to share which book you are reading in bed this Sunday morning before doing stuff. This meme is hosted by Midnight book girl.
This is the book I'm in bed today

Soooooooooooo good!!! I love it.

Well, this is me, but what about you?

Saturday Quote: Nick and Norah's infinitive playlist

Hi everyone!!! :)

When I read a book I like to write down book sentences that I've found curious or funny.

Recently, I've finished Nick and Norah's infinitive song written by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. It was a great book. When I read the blurb I thought that I was going to like it, but in the end, I looooooooooooooved it.
Now, I want to share with you some sentences which grabbed my attention when I read it.

Here is the quote:

" Tal laughs. "Piece of shit car: five dollars. Value of Norah's opinion: three cents. Irony of her calling me an asshole: priceless"

I found this hilarious. I hope that you've liked it and now you want to read the book.

Well, this is me, but what about you?

"I'd been waiting for the vampire for years when he walked into the bar"

The start is very good. I hope I like the book and the rest of the series.

Well, this is me, but what about you? Have you read this book? Did you like it?

Top Ten All Time Favorite Characters In Books

hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!! :)

Well, today it's about what your favourite characters in books are and this is my list.

1.- Jane Eyre from Jane Eyre. I think Jane is a revolutionary character. She is wise, clever and intelligent and no, I don't need a man in my life to be a woman. Just I love her.

2.- Jo from Little women. Another great character in literature. She is impulse and thoughtful. she wants to live her life and be whatever she wants.

3.- Cricket from Lola and the boy next door. Well, Cricket is Cricket. He is thoughtful and considered.

4.- Colin from An abundance of Katherines. Colin is definitely one of my favourites. He is clever and stupid at the same time. I love him.

5.- Kathy from Never let me go. Well, Kathy is very clever, calm and sympathetic. She doesn't go along with the crowd.

6.- Jenny from Love story. She is hilarious. I like how she teases Oliver. She is not pretty and she doesn't care because she has the brains.

7.- Pia from The Vanishing of Katharina Linden. She is a very good detective. She likes mystery and she isn't going to stop until she knows what happen to Katharina. She's very brave.

8.- Nick from Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. He is passionate, thoughtful and nice. He reminds me of Cricket but I think Nick is a bit more impulsive.

9.- Holly from PS, I love you. I love this character. She is very funny and intelligent. She can see the evil in the eye. She can evolve and become what she wants.

10.- Coraline from Coraline. Coraline is very very brave and she doesn't care to put her life in danger to save those she loves.

Well, this is my list, but what about you?

Dewey's read-a-thon is almost here!

                               hosted by: Dewey's read-a-thon

Hi everyone!!! :)

Yes, Dewey's read-a-thon is almost here. Tomorrow is the day when I'll have the opportunity to stay at home doing nothing more than reading :) yeeees, I'm very excited about it. It's the second read-a-thon I've made. The first one was awful, I only read one book :(

Here is  what I've learned from that experience.

1.- It's everything up to you. You can do whatever you want. It's not a contest, it's not a job, nothing is compulsory, it's just for fun. (I have to write this because I always forget it :()
2.-  You should read the books you like, the books are waiting for you forever in your shelf and you really want to read, but most importantly choose short books or graphic novels. When I did the other read-a-thon I chose thick books, so, I think, it's better to choose different sizes to read at least one book or two if you are tired of reading or you don't feel like reading.

3.- Sugar. It's a silly thing but in the other read-a-thon I really missed eating chocolate and cookies. It's not gonna happen this time.

4.- Be social. OK this is important for me but it doesn't mean it HAS to be for everybody, so talk to family, they are always there for you too :)

5.- Share your thoughts but also read what others think. Yeah, I think it's important to read what other bloggers are doing.

And now, these are the books I want to read this time:

1.- The statistical probability of love at the first sight by Jennifer E. Smith.

2.- Out of my mind by Richard Bach.

3.- Nick and Norah's infinite playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.

4.-Dead until dark by Charlaine Harris.

From my unfinished project (books that I've started reading and for one reason or another I stop reading them)

5.- The boyfriend list by E. Lockhart.

6.- The hunger games by Suzanne Collins.

Maybes:

7.- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.

8.- Across the universe.

(9.- Supernaturally by Kiersten White. Well, this is the book I'm reading right now and I'm about to finish it. So, I don't know if I am going to finish today or tomorrow)

Well, this is me but what about you? :)

It's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                             Hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everyone!!! :)

Well, it's Monday so it's time to share with you what I read, what I'm reading right now and what I intend to read next.

Last week I didn't finish anything. It's been a crazy week, so I didn't read much (at least, not as much as I wanted :()

This week I'm reading:

- The hunger games by Suzanne Collins. I've stopped to read it more or less to think about the stuff. Then, I think I'm going to start reading it again when I have more time to read another amount of pages.

- Supernaturally by Kiersten White. I liked so much the previous book that I decided to buy this one.  I like it, Evie is the best! :)

Next in my pile: Across the universe by Beth Revis.

Well, this is me but what about you?

Book beginnings

Hosted by: Rose City Reader

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you a book beginning

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading.

Well, after finishing Lola and the boy next door, I decided to read Supernaturally by Kiersten White. I loved so much Paranormalcy that I bought Supernaturally. I read like 20 pages and I like it. I hope this doesn't change.

So, here is the first line:

"Oh bleep, I was going to die"

Promising beginning, eh? I think I'm going to love this one and I'm thinking I'm going to buy the next one and the previous one too :)

Well, this is me, but what about you?

TGIF Question!

                                           hosted by: GReads!

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today it's Friday so it's time for a TGIF question! The question is musical Stories: If you could read a book about any song, which song would you love to see written down in story form?

My answer would be this one :

http://youtu.be/dIV73IASSrI

I like the story the song tells. It's about a love story which began at school through the years until they start dating. First, I think it's because they are too shy, then he has someone, then she has boyfriends and at last, they start dating :)

Here are the lyrics.

It all started nine years ago
You sat to my left back in school
The future showed itself to me
The god in you, the god in me, stood together like two trees

I was so shy to inquire
If you would like tea sometime
Then in my Mercury
Hand on hand, hand on knee, mercy mercy mercy me

And I believe in love
To be the center of all things
And I believe in love to be the way
And I believe in love
To be the center of all things
And I believe in love to be the way
To find our inner light

I saw a vision where we
Were opening presents Christmas Day
But we were not all alone
The wedding was shotgun
We had a daughter and a son

So how cruel to realize
You had a woman all the time
But my love burns bright as the sun
The clouds may come, the clouds may go
And I'll still be here at your door

And I believe in love...

Thank you for waiting through my lovers
Knowing we could come home to each other
Yes, I have waited through these winters
My true one was right here

And I believe in love...

Well, this is me but what about you?

Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today the topic is ten books that were totally deceiving. Well, I've been thinking about this a little and these two books were the only ones came to my mind. Here is my list:

1.-The boyfriend list: 15 guys, 11 shrink appointments, 4 ceramic frogs and me, Ruby Oliver by E. Lockhart. I thought this book would be amazing. It would be funny and smart and it would be a nice story. A mix between John Green's stories and Stephanie Perkins' stories, but no. When I started reading, I laughed a lot but then it got more serious. I found the story very appealing but it was not what I'd expected.

2.- The sisterhood of the travelling pants by Ann Brashares. At first, I thought this one would be a boring and conventional story, but, fortunately, it wasn't. It tells the story of the four girls in a way that it's always interesting and you don't get bored of any of them. Besides, the book shows topics such as sex or cancer in a sweet way. Very good book, I can't wait to read the whole series.

Well, this is me. but what about you?

It's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                                       hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everyone!!! :)

It's Monday and it's time for me to share with you what I read last week, what I'm reading and what I intend to read next.

Last week I finished Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins and I loved it :) At first, I was disappointed because I thought it would be love at the first sight, but no. I was about to leave it when the book started to be more and more interesting and basically, I couldn't put it down. So beautiful! I think I liked it more than Anna and the French Kiss, if this can be possible. I highly recommend it if you like love stories.

Now, I'm reading

- The hunger games by Suzanne Collins.I like the story although it's a bit intense.

- Supernaturally by Kiersten White. I've only read a few pages but I like it :)

Next in my pile: Across the universe by Beth Revis

Well, this is me but what about you?

Book chat: Book choosing.

Hi everyone!!! :)

This is an idea of Misty over at The Book Rat. Today the discussion is about how we choose the books we want to read and how  it has changed over the years.

First, I've being reading all of my life, but it's true that my way to choose what I want to read next has changed a lot over the years.

When I was a kid, I think, basically, I went to the library and took the books seemed to me more attractive.

When I was older, I remember starting choosing books because the author was a woman. I thought that we could have things in common, that the content of the book would be similar to my life, that I would feel part of the story. Now, it turns out that my favourite authors are men.

Later, I watched TV programs about books, read reviews, watched authors' interviews , people's recommendations or just walked in the library, read the blurb and consider if I liked it, in order to find what to read next.

Now that I read book blogs the way I look for books is totally different. I always take note about the books people are really excited about. I trust their criterion, since they have never let me down, and wrote the titles down. Then, I signed up to Goodreads which made things much easier. Every time I hear about a book I open my Goodreads account and just add the book. When it comes to going to the library or to buying a book, the only thing I have to do is open my account and look for my to read list and look for books. As easy as that.

This way I've changed the books I used to read. Well, first, since I follow book blogs I approach authors who otherwise I'd have never known. What's more, people have discovered me a lot of books. So, every time I go in a book shop, I can't help telling everybody: hey, look this book or wow, they have this one or I can't believe it this is the book I wanted for so long and it only costs 3 euros! I'm going to buy it. So, yes, definitely, since I follow book blogs I've found great books that otherwise I don't think I could find. That makes me want to read more and now I prefer to read a book than watch TV, for instance.

Secondly, I wasn't a great lover of young adult fiction and now it's basically what I'm reading. I like reading different genres. I'm open to all of them, but every time I think this book sounds great it turns out to be young adult fiction. But, anyway, they are all so great!

Thirdly, the blog gives the opportunity to know a lot of good books and since I follow some memes like It's Monday! what are you reading? I try to finish a book each week. Besides, I update on Goodreads which page I am and see how the line grows. It's always a way to enjoy and challenge yourself.

Well, this is me but about you?

Top Ten Books To Read In A Day

hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

Today it's about what ten books I'd choose to read in a day. Here is my list:

1.- Anna and the French kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This one is for sure. I wasn't in the mood for reading but I took this book and I couldn't barely put it down. If I had had more time I'm sure I would have finished in a day.

2.- An abundance of Katherines by John Green. I've read this one in 3 days but it was because I didn't much time. I think it's the perfect book when you want to spend the day just reading.

3.- Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. This one is one of my favourite books because it's very funny. It's very easy that you start reading it and you realise that you read a lot without noticing.

4.- the sisterhood of a travelling pants by Ann Brashares. I think I read this one very quickly. There are 4 main characters so the author is changing from one to other so you don't get tired of the story.Perfect to read in one sitting.

5.- Wuthering Hights by Emily Bronte. I remember finding this book so enjoyable that I couldn't put it down.

6.- Clockwork angel by Cassandra Clare. Although this one is thick, you find yourself turning pages quickly. Very enjoyable.

7.- Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. This one is another book which I find the perfect company because it's very entertaining.

8.- bad karma by David Safier. This book is not very short but you can easy read in one day. It's very very funny and it's very difficult to put it down.

9.- Anya's ghost. Actually, I finished this one in one day because I loved the story.

10.- The vanishing of Katherina Linden by Helen Grant. This one is funny and mysterious. So, it's perfect to spend one day reading.

Well, this is me but what about you?

April TBR!

Hi everyone!!!

This idea is hosted by Misty over at The book rat.

Today I'm going to share with you what books I want to read this month. I think I'm going to choose more than usual because this month I think I'm going to take part in the Dewey's read-marathon. I'm very excited about and I hope I won't have plans that day. I took part in October but I did very bad. I've only read one book :( But this time I think I'll read at least two. I have my fingers crossed ;)

This is what I want to read this month:

I'm very excited with these books and I hope I have time to read all of them. They seem to me very good books. This is me but what about you?

Here is how I did in March or you just can roll a little bit and you'll find the post.
