Sundays in bed with...

  hosted by: Midnight Book Girl
Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you the book I'm spending the day with ...

Lucky in Love (Lucky Harbor, #4)

Yes, it's true it's the same book as last week, but I haven't been able to finish it yet. I'm a slow reader :( Anyway, I really love this book, it's very funny and cute and I'm very happy Kimberly recommended in her blog (On the wings of books). I'm enjoying this one as much as I did with the rest of the books in the series. In this book, I've found the vocabulary a bit difficult (I am Spanish), but I love it and I'm learning English while I'm having fun, so yes, this read is a great one.

Well, this is the book I'm spending the day. What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to tell me what's yours :)

Wednesday of review: The Yellow World by Albert Espinoza

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my review of The Yellow World

The Yellow World

What is this about? In this book Albert Espinosa tells the lessons he learned when he was hospitalized in the hospital because he had a cancer. When he cured, he applied those lessons to his life and he now has compiled all the lessons in this book.

                                             MY THOUGHTS ABOUT IT

What I liked: the fact that the lessons, he learned when he was ill, you can apply in your life and be happier.

This book totally surprised me. Not only because it was non-fiction and I thought it was going to be a novel, but also because I loved the world he talks about in this book. A different world from the rest of the people. A world of his own.

Although he talks about cancer, and it's a topic which has touched me directly and I am not happy to read books about it, the book is funny. Sometimes it's really difficult for me not to laugh out loud. Albert tells the whole thing in a very funny way.

I like his idea of buying a diary where you write on it every day and  you put objects on it. I think it's a really curious idea and I want to do it.

I like when he describes the yellow people. I think it's the best part of the book.

What I didn't like: The lessons were too many for me. I think it's a book you need to buy and read it little by little absorbing his ideas.

Sometimes, I didn't agree the way he sees the life. Plus I don't think I understoof the concept of yellow and yellow people. It was strange.

I didn't like at all when he says we have to talk about our own death, what day we're going t die. That made me feel sad :'(

Overall: I liked it, but I think I should have read it slowly and thinking more deeply in every lessons.

Well, this is my book, What do you think of it? Do you want to read it? Have you read it? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments!!! :)

It's Monday! What are you reading?

                                              hosted by : Book Journey

Hi everyone!!! :)

Last week I was sick :'( but now I'm feeling a little better. For me, it was perfect to have some time to read. I started several books, but my mood wasn't for those particular books, but anyway, I could finish one and I started another one.

Here are my books:

Last week I finished:

Drama

Drama by Raina Telgemeier. Although I wasn't in the mood for something written in English, this book was calling my name since the day it came to my house. I looooooved it. It was cute and funny. I highly recommend it :)

Now I'm reading
Lucky in Love (Lucky Harbor, #4)

Lucky in love by Jill Shalvis. Again, I wasn't in the mood for something written in English, but Jill Shalvis books are soooo adorable, cute and funny that I couldn't resist to this one and fortunately, I wasn't wrong. This is one is another treat :)

Next in my pile
ttfn (Internet Girls, #2)

I think I'm going to read this book, because I'm in the mood for funny stuff, so this one I believe it's appropriate. I read the first book and I loved it, I hope I have the same feeling with this one too.

Well, this is the books I read, I'm reading and I plan to read. Do you like them? Have you read them? If you have some funny and cute recommendations, please tell me! Thanks for stopping by, commenting and sharing. I really appreciate that :)

Sundays in bed with...

  hosted by: Midnight Book Girl
Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I'm a bit sick so I'm picking books from my shelf which fit better with my mood :'(

I think this one does perfectly. I think ALL the books by Jill Shalvis are the best companion :)

Lucky in Love (Lucky Harbor, #4)

I haven't read much, but I think I'm going to love it :) This is the 4rd book in the series and the first three books the main characters are 3 sisters. I guess in this one they are not going to appear, so I'm going to miss them.

I highly recommend the rest of the series because it's very entertaining and funny :)

Well, this is my book, what do you think of it? Have you read it? If so, did you like it? Let me know in the comments and don't forget to share with me the book you're spending the day with ;)

Wednesday of review: Just listen by Sarah Dessen

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today I want to share with you my review of this book

Just Listen

 Don't judge. Just listen.

What is this about?

Annabelle is a girl who seems to have everything. She is pretty, intelligent and she seems to have a perfect family and a perfect life. But this is not true in about a year Annabel world is going to be upside down, nothing is perfect and everybody seems to hate her.

What I liked:

From the beginning I felt the book it was going to be a good one and I WASN'T wrong! :D

It was different from the other books I had read at that moment. The tone, the style, the way she explained everything was very appealing.

I liked Sarah Dessen talked about obsessive compulsive disorder. It's a subject which happens every day and this is the first book I read which talks about and I read a looot! Also, I like the way she treats this problem, how the person who is suffering reacts and how the family is affected by it.

Besides, I loved the book was deep and entertaining which meant I basically couldn't put it down.  I read it in 3 days although the book is quick thick and I'm a slow reader.

The whole story is well-done and everything is plausible.

The book made me feel things. I cried and I laughed. Plus, it made me think about the stuff the characters have to go through.

What I didn't like:

I'd enjoy more if the main character was my age because I can't remember how it felt when you live with your parents and you have to go to high school.

She told the story in flashbacks, but there are so many that sometimes I didn't know if what I was reading was happening in the present or in the past. I think she abused of that a little bit. I liked them, but sometimes it was a bit confusing.

The characters:

Owen: I really loved Owen. I think he is like a psychologist for Annabelle. I believe it's much easier for him to help her than everybody else since he has going through bad experiences too and he's learning from his mistakes. I like Owen because he's honest.

Emily: I think Emily is a great character. At the beginning, I thought she was plain and simple, but in the end she was one of the best characters.

Overall: I really enjoyed the book very much. I got into the story very quickly and you can easily read it in 3 days. I loved it and I highly recommend it :)

Well, these are my thoughts, but what are yours? Have you read the book? Did you like it? Do you agree with me? Let me know in the comments! :)

Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy...But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!! :)

So, today I want to share with you the books I really really needed to have, I couldn't wait any more and now they are still sitting on my shelves unread.

Solar

Solar by Ian McEwan. I read more or less what was about and I wanted to have right away. This was one of the first books I ordered on the Internet, that means I ordered in 2011 and I haven't read yet.

The Book Thief

The book thief by Markus Kusak. This is the first book I bought because book community recommended. I was very interesting in it, but I have never read it, though :(

The Help

The help by Kathryn Stockett. The film was about to come out and I had to have this book. I read what was about and I fell in love with the story. It had to be mine and then, I left in my shelf and I never take it again :(

Dubliners

Dubliners by James Joyce. I bought this book because I wanted to read it (I heard it was good) and it was cheap. My intention was to read it right away, since I thought it was good and thin, but in the end I haven't read it.

Cranford

Cranford by Elizabeth Cranford. I've watched a little bit of the episodes on TV and the story sounds in the interesting. i saw the book in a book shop very cheap and I bought it right away. It's in my shelf since then.

The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Actually I started the book and I thought oh my God, this is so good. I have to have my own copy. I bought it and yes, I have never read it.

A Tale of Two Cities

A tale of two cities by Charles Dickens. I've heard nothing but good things about this book and obviously, I had to have. i bought it, but I have never tried to open at least.

The Descendants

The descendants by Haui Hart Hemmings.Again another book I haven't opened. This one was a birthday present which I HAD to have, but again I left in my shelf and I never open it.

Good Wives (Little Women, # 2/2)

Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. Actually I have two copies of this book. I have in one volume Little women and Good wives and I thought it'd be uncorfortable to read it in this way, so I bought another copy. My intention is re-read Little women and then, read this one, but I haven't done it yet.

Outlander (Outlander, #1)

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It's true that I bought this book because it was very cheap (3 euros/3.8 dollars/2.5 pounds), but it's also true that I really really wanted to have it because I really really really wanted to read it, but now I think it's been a year and it's still in my shelf unread.

Well, these are the books. What do you think? Have you had the same experience? What are your books? Let me know in the comments! :)

Oldest Book in My TBR Pile (Take control of your TBR pile read-a-thon challenge)

                            hosted by: Kimba@Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Hi everyone!!! :)

From 15 to 18 of March Kimba from the Caffeinated Book Reviewer is hosting a read-a-thon where we're reading the books we have in our TBR pile. Yes, it's true that you end up reading books from the library or books people lend you and you totally forgot the books are on your self unread for a long time. And this is what happens to me with this book

 Solar

So Kimba asked us

Go through your TBR pile and find the oldest book you haven't read.

Tell us why you bought it.
 Why you haven't read it.
 Read the first chapter
Tells us what you think or give a summary.
Share a quote.
Why I bought it?: I bought it because at that time I thought it'd be a great read since it contains science stuff, but now I can't remember what exactly sentence made me buy it.

Why I haven't read it: I think it's because I believe I thought it was going to be something similar to Good Will Hunting, in the sense science is cool, but I started a bit and I didn't feel in that way.

First chapter thoughts: This book hasn't chapters so I read a bunch of pages. It was more interesting than I expected when I read a few lines, but again it's not about science or at least at the beginning, so it is not what expected, but I think I'm going to read it soon, because the pages I read were interesting :)

Share a quote: "Apparently, there was a certain kind of husband who thrilled at the notion of his wife with other men. Such a man might arrange to have himself bound and gagged and locked in the bedroom wardrobe while ten feet away hid better half went at it."
This is my book. What do you think of? Did you like it? What is yours? Let me know in the comments! :D

Sunday in bed with...

  hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Hi everyone!!! :)

So, today I want to share with you the book I'm spending the day with

Will Grayson, Will Grayson

I really love these two authors. I think they write great books. When I pick up this book, I thought that I was going to love it and read it very quickly and that is not what is  happening :( First of all because of the vocabulary. Although my level is high (I don't usually look up words in the dictionary, just from time to time) I can't understand some sentences, so I have to look up works and re-read sentences several times (which annoys the most) and second, I find the action a bit slow. I have read like 20 pages or so and they don't happen many things. So I'm a bit disappointed :'(

But, anyway, I think it's because it's just the beginning, so I hope to get into the story soon and read it very quickly. I really want to give it a chance :)

Well, this is my Sunday book. What do you think of it? Have you read it? If so, did you have the same feeling as me? What is the book you're spending the day with? Let me know in the comments! :D

Friday, March 15, 2013

Take control of your TBR pile read-a-thon: I'm totally in! :D

Hi everyone!!!

So, today I want to share with you about this read-a-thon.

                           hosted by: Kimba@Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It started yesterday, but at least it continues until the 18th of March, so we still have time to sign up.

In this read-a-thon I'm going to try to read two books

Will Grayson, Will Grayson
I really want to read this book because 1) I want to read the books I buy and I think this read-a-thon is a good opportunity for that. 2) because I think David Levithan and John Green are great authors and I love them and 3) because I have just signed up in Will Grayson, Will Grayson read-a-long hosted by Bookish.

Northanger Abbey
This book sounds quite interesting and I want to read it because I have only read Pride and Prejudice and because Ariel Bissett is hosting The Austen Adventures. So, every month she's going to read one book (you can join this idea if you want) and then she's going to do a review and we all can talk about in her youtube channel.

I 'm going to leave her video below where she explains the whole thing :)

Well, this is what I'm going to do these day, are you joining me? What books are you reading or you plan to read? Let me know in the comments.

Book beginnings: This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

                                        hosted by: Rose City Reader

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you the beggining of this book

This Lullaby

"Chapter one

The name of the song is "This Lullaby". At this point, I've probably heard it, oh, about a million times. Approximately."

So far I like it, it's a quite interesting read and the main character Remy is funny and intelligent.

So, what do you think of this book? Have you read it? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments! :)
