February TBR: How I did it

Hi everybody!!! :)

Now it's the last day of the month it's time to see how I did it in my February TBR list. Before I forget this idea is hosted by Misty over The book rat.

This list was what I wanted to read:

- PS, I love you by Cecelia Ahern.
- Matched by Ally Condie.
- I capture the castle by Dodie Smith.
- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
Maybes:
- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
- The second summer of the sisterhood by Ann Brashares.
- Emma by Jane Austen.
Well it was very ambitious and here is what I did this month. I've read:
- PS, I love you by Cecelia Ahern. Yes! I've read this one although it was really sad. I cried reading the book like 4 times and when I finished it another one.
- Matched by Ally Condie. Wow! I loooooooove this book. Really, really excited to read next book in the series.
- Hana by Lauren Oliver. It was online for 4 days, I think. I read it but I was a little disappointed. I hoped more.
Mmm, just three but it's OK. I guess you guys do better than me as always :) well, this is me but what about you? Please, let me your links and I'll read them.

Top Ten Books I'd Give A Theme Song To

hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

Hi everybody!!! :)

This week is top ten books and I'd give a theme and I only have one title :(

Here is my only option:

For this book, I think that the song which perfectly matches is Not as we by Alanis Morissette, I think the lyrics clearly show the struggle that Alanis has to go through and I feel it's exactly the same has to do Holly. Step by step she has to start to get over it.
Well, this is me but what about you?

It's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                                                 hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everybody!!! :)

Last week I didn't finish any book but I stopped reading I capture the castle. I was getting bored and I don't know it's because I was reading in my e-book or because it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Anyone, I left it although I wish I had liked it.

This week I'm reading the boyfriend list by E. Lockhart. At first it was really funny but then it started to be kind of serious which I didn't like it much. So, now, I'm going to give it a go and we'll see.

Next in my pile. I am not sure which one but I think I'm going to choose between Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins or Paper towns by John Green.

Well, this is me but what about you?

Saturday quote

Hi everybody!!! :)

Every time I read a book I write down funny stuff or interesting sentences I find in the book.

Here is one of those sentences I've found in the book I capture the castle by Dodie Smith.

"-  Isn't this a lovely home for you?

I agree that it was; and I still think so. But anyone who could enjoy the winter here would find North Pole stuffy"

Hahahaa I think this is really funny that's why I've chosen it.

Well, this is  me but what about you? have you found some funny stuff in your books? :)

TGIF Question

                                          hosted by: GReads!

 Hi everybody!!! :)

It's Friday (yujuu! :)) and it's time for another Friday question. Today the question is:

Required Reading: Which book from your school days do you remember reading & enjoying? Is there a book published now that you'd like to see in today's curriculum for kids?

Well, fortunately, I was lucky and my school has tried to encourage children to read so I've read some amazing books. These are some of them:

1- Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl

2.- Jim Button and Luke the engine driver by Michael Ende

3.- The outsiders by S.E. Hinton.

4.-Jacob have I loved by Katherine Paterson.

Really cool books, eh? :) If I could add to the curriculum, this would be my option: Dear Susie, dear Paul by Christine Nostinger. It's my favourite book :)

Well, this is me but what about you?

2.- An abundance of Katherines by John Green.

3.- Looking for Alaska by John Green.

4.- Paper Town by John Green.

5.- Anna and the French kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

6.- Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins.

7.-Coraline by Neil Gaiman.

8.- Anya's ghost by Vera Brosgol.

9.- Liesl & Po by Lauren Oliver.

10.- The boyfriend list by E. Lockhart.

Some of them I haven't read yet but I would definitely save them because they seem to me they're going to be great reads.

It's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                                     hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everybody!!! :)

It's Monday and I want to share with you what books I've read last week, what I'm reading right now and what is next in my TBR pile.

Last week I read

                 - Hana by Lauren Oliver. Or at least the text Lauren put on MTV website. I liked but I was a little disappointed with the end of Hana.

                 - Matched by Ally Condie. I looooooved this book although it broke my heart a little. At first, it reminded me Delirium a lot but I think this one is deeper in other aspects than Delirium. It was very difficult to me to put it down and now I can't wait to read the second part.

Currently I'm reading:

                - I capture the castle by Dodie Smith. I like this book but I don't love it. Maybe it's because the language but I am not enjoying it as much as other books I've read recently.

Next in my pile:

               - Vampire academy by Richelle Meud. Everybody is telling that I'm really going to enjoy reading this book, so I can't wait to finish I capture the castle and read this one.

Well, this is me but what about you?

Book beginnings

hosted by: A Few More Pages

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading.

Hi everybody!!! :)

This week I'm reading I capture the castle by Dodie Smith.  I'm enjoying reading it although I've only read 14 pages.

Here are the first lines of the book:

" I am sitting in the kitchen sink. That is, my feet are in it; the rest of me is on the draining- board, which I have padded with our dog's blanket and tea-cozy"

So far, the book is good. It sounds the perfect company when it's raining outside and there is nothing better to do than curling up on your sofa and read.

Well, this is me but what about you?

Top Ten Books That Broke Your Heart A Little

hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

Hi everybody!!! :)

Today it's about top ten books that broke your heart a little and here is my list.

1.- PS, I love you by Cecelia Ahern. Puf, this book has broken my heart. I cried like 5 times while I was reading it and AFTER reading it :O Great book but it is definitely heart-breaking.

2.- Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Another great book which broke my heart too. It was sooooooooooooooo unfair and so beautiful at the same time.

3.- Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I read this book in one sitting because I loved Morrie's wisdom. I think he's a great guy and Mitch Albom knew how to transmit his kindness and wisdom.

4.- Love story by Erich Segal. This is another sad story which I love. She was sooo funny that I laughed a lot in the book.

5.- Atonement by Ian McEwan. Another very gripping story which broke my heart a little.

6.- Flowers in the attic by V.C. Andrews. Puf, this one is definitely a heart-breaking story. Poor children :_(

7.-One day by David Nicholls. Beautiful story about love.

8.- Looking for Alaska by John Green. It is not as sad as PS, I love you but still it's sad.

9.- Vigo is Vivaldi by Jose Ramon Ayllon. Although I felt that the novel was aimed to young people, I liked reading it. It's a common story about teenagers.

10.- Open all night by David Trueba. Although I didn't like the story much when it came to the end I cried a lot. The story broke my heart very much :(

Well, this is my list but what about yours?

it's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                                                     hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everybody!!! :)

Today it's Monday so it's time to share with you what I've read, what I'm reading right now and I want to read next.

Last week I finished:

                    -  PS, I love you. Puf, for me this book has been awesome because it was very well-written and I loved how Cecelia Ahern developed the story. The thing is that it was a tough stuff for me so I cried like 5 times while I was reading the book. On the other hand, the book is also funny so I've cried then laughed then cried again, so and so on. But I really enjoyed reading it and I want to read more books by Cecelia Ahern.

Now I'm reading:

                  - Matched by Ally Codie. So far I like it but it reminds me so much of Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Still, I'm enjoying reading it.

                  - I capture the castle by Dodie Smith. I haven't read much but I like it so far.

Next in my pile:

                 - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I don't know very much about this book except many people liked it.

                -  Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. very excited about this one because I've heard good things about. Besides, Neil Gaiman never let me down :)

Well, this is me but what about you?

Saturday quote

Hi everybody!!! :)

Today I want to share with you a quote, well it's actually a dialogue between two characters which grabbed my attention when I was reading the book  PS, I love you.

"- From now on I will be a sensible, mature thirty-year old woman.

  - Yeah, that's what I said too"

hahahahaa Although the book is kind of sad, OK it's really sad, most of the time it's quite funny. I like this quote because that it's soooo true. You say to yourself I'm going to be responsible and sensible and do this and don't do that but in the end the only thing has changed is you're a year older. But, well, it's really cool that you think you can change if you want.

Well, this is me. I hope you 're enjoying reading your book(s) as much as I'm enjoying reading this one. Feel free to leave comment and/or links to your blogs.

hosted by: The Broke and the Bookish

Hi everybody!!! :)

Top ten of today is about Top Ten Books you'd hand to someone who says they don't like to read. It's been a bit hard to choose perfect books for those who don't like to read. It's very difficult to convince someone to do something although you find it very funny. I think my list would be aimed more for young adults who don't find reading enjoyable. For me, the books I've chosen have been very funny, very entertaining and it was very difficult for me to put them down.

Here is the list:

1.- Paranormalcy by Kiersten White.
2.- Anna and the French kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

3.- An abundance of Katherines by John Green.

4.- Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

5.- The sisterhood of travelling pants by Ann Brashares

6.- Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Claire.

7.- Bad karma by David Safier.

8.- Anya's Ghost by Vera Brosgol.

9.- Coraline by Neil Gaiman (graphic novel)

it's Monday! What are *you* reading?

                                                      hosted by: Book Journey

Hi everybody!!! :)

Today, one week more, I want to share with you what I've read last week, what I'm reading right now and what I want to read next.

                  - An abundance of Katherines by John Green. I really liked this book. It was very well-written and very, very funny. I recommend to you.
                 - Coraline by Neil Gaiman (Graphic novel). Another book I really enjoyed reading it although I had to be content with a copy in Spanish.

This week I'm reading:

                 - PS, I love you by Cecelia Ahern. This book is really good too. It's sad but it's also very funny.

Next in my pile:

               - Matched by Allie Condie. I can't wait to read this one but it will have to wait. Since PS, I love you is a thick book is going to take me some time to finish it.

Well, this is me but what about you?

Saturday quote

Hi everybody!!! :)

Every time I find an interesting sentence while I'm reading a book I write down. Here is another sentence I found while I was reading An abundance of Katherines by John Green. John Green is a very good author and the book is full of funny stuff so it's not a surprise that I put more than one quote from this book.

" There was little correlation between a really high IQ and making a significant contribution to the world"

This is the feeling I have now but when I was younger I felt that all people that had high IQ would go a long way. Then my experience showed me that it wasn't true. So, people like me that they don't have a high IQ, we can do amazing things. Don't forget that! :)

Well, this is me but what about you?

TGIF Question + Book Beginnings

                                            hosted by: GReads!

Hi everybody!!! :)

The question today is  Book Appeal: When you're browsing goodreads, the library, or another blogger's reviews, what grabs your attention to make you want to read it?

Normally, I think it's the plot. If I find it interesting, I add it to my list. Said this I have to say that sometimes I really want to read the because the cover is really really cute but the book turns out not so good :(

Lately, I follow other book blogger advice specially Misty (The Book Rat), Liz (Consumed by books), Anne (My head is full of books) and Sarah (Just another story). I have borrowed and have bought some books they recommend and I loved all of them, so I trust on their judgement. Thanks to them it's much easier to find the perfect, enjoyable, funny and interesting book :)

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading.

Well, this week I'm reading PS, I love you by Cecelia Ahern. It's a very good book and I really like it. Now, it's getting funnier but at first it was very sad.
Here is the first two lines of the book:

"Holly held the blue cotton sweater to her and the familiar smell immediately struck her"

I hope you're enjoying your books as much as I do reading this one.

Well, this is me, but what about you?
