Trip to the library :)

Hi everyone!!! :)

I hope you're having a great day :) Today I went to the library because I wanted to return some books and I  found books which I think I'm going to love.

The Icarus Deception by Seth Godin. I don't have a clue what this book is about, but I had a look and it sounded interesting, like your way of working should be based on creativity (I believe)

So many book by Gabriel Zaid. This one is a book which I had started long time ago. I had to leave it unfinished because I had to return it, but what I remember was laughing very much although the topic, that there are too many books out there, was a bit scary.

He's just not that into you by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. I borrowed this book because I was curious. I wanted to know what this book was really about. I knew the film based on this book, but this book was placed in psychology in my library, not in fiction. When I took a look, when I saw that the authors what they do is answering questions about men, I didn't know if I was going to like it, but I borrowed because I thought the book could help me with ideas for short stories, but once I arrived home and I started reading it, I saw that the book could help me personally, we'll see :)

Funny sentences said by children. In Spain there is a program called El hormiguero (Ant's nest) In the program they asked parents if they wanted to send sentences said by their children which were funny. Everybody enjoyed sending and hearing funny sentences said by children, I remember hearing some of them and laugh out loud, so they decided to compile in a book. The book was so famous that they decided to do more. I have already read another book and I laughed very much. Very funny! :)

Who remembers David Foenkinos? by David Foenkinos. I have already started this one and it's quite unusual. In the book he talks about waht happened to him after his success with one book and then with the next five books it was like nobody knew him. So far it's interesting and different.

This is me, but did you find something good in the library lately?

Challenge completed!!! :)

Hey guys!!! :)

Yesterday I told you that I wanted to challenge myself. I wanted to read this book in just one day, in fact just one evening.

And I finished at 11:55 a.m, but I did it. I'm glad that I completed my challenge and also I read such an entertainment book. I highly recommend it if you want to improve your French and/or you want to read something quirky and interesting.

So, what about you? have you finished a great book and complete a challenge? Let me know in the comments.

See ya :)

Challenges!!! :)

Hey guys!!! :)

How is it going? I hope you are having a wonderful day :)

Today I want to challenge myself. I love challenges especially the ones are related to books and this one is one of those.

Yesterday I have planned to read some books, but I didn't have time to start reading this one.

So, I have decided to start and finish it today . It's only 80 pages so I think I can finish it in one day, but since it's in French, maybe I need more time, but anyway, this is the challenge: finish this book today.

Let's see how it goes. The answer: Tomorrow

Wish me luck! :)

Sundays in bed with...

 SundaysInBedWithBig

                                  hosted by: Midnight book girl

Hi guys! :)

How is your Sunday going? Mine is full of energy and this evening I hope to do some interesting things. Since I have spent the whole summer teaching I'm basically resting, but I also want to spend some time today reading my books.

I have already started it and the things she experiments or the things she talks about are very interesting, but, unfortunately, not the way is explained. Sometimes the vocabulary is difficult for me, even I'm reading it in mother tongue, but anyway, it's still interesting enough to keep reading it :)

Now, one passion I have is learning languages. I'm trying to learn French. I know some things, but I really want to be fluent.

Today I want to read this book (start and finish it). I really like Sophie Calle and I want to read all her books. They are always quirky and strange.

I don't know much about this book. The only thing I know it's the book shows pictures have been stolen.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. See you soon :)

1 book everyday in one week challenge :)

Hi everyone!!! :)

The other I was watching some Booktuber’s videos and I was watching this one where Marlinelina explains her plans in terms of reading for the summer. One thing she wants to do is reading a book everyday during a week. I thought it was a great idea and very original, so I decided to make it to. I'm going to start today and I will be reading one book a day. Wish me luck!!! :D

The books I mention:

Flush by Virginia Woolf.

La Navidad en la tradición (Chrismas in tradition) by Joaquín Díaz

Percy Jackson and the sword of Hades by Rick Riordan

Three men in a boat by Jerome K. Jerome

El lazarillo de Tomes by Anonymus

Disparitions by Sophie Calle

The Phantom of Venice by Carolyn Kneene

Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my top Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't.

12885533 7194336530

Ready player one by Ernest Cline. The story was appealing as much as I expected, but once I finished it and saw the whole picture, I was very happy that I put it down. It was great!!! :D

The club Dumas by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Actually I put it down this book, but I wanted to give it a second chance. I started it and I couldn't put it down.

The sisterhood of the traveling pants by Ann Brashares. I had watched some scenes from the movie and I liked those, so I decided to pick it up. I started reading it and it seemed to me it was a silly story. I thought to put it down, but before I wanted to read just another page... So, finally, I couldn't put it down. I read the whole series and I loved so much that I've bought 2 of the 4 books in the series. It was really great :D

These all the books I could think of, but let me know if you have some books that you thought: "I don't like this I'm going to put it down", but fortunately you didn't :)

Astronaut academy by Dave Roman. A funny pick :) I really liked this book, it's funny and cute. My two favourite things ^^

Dewey's read-a-thon: Hour 24

Hey guys!!! :)

How you ended the read-a-thon? for me the time passed very quickly and I felt I didn't have enough time to do all the things I wanted to do. But anyway, it was fun and I could end several books :)

End of Event Meme:

  1. Which hour was most daunting for you? 1 a.m. in the morning (Spain time) My eyes closed and I felt very tired :(
  2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? All of my friends are superheroes by Andrew Kaufman was really interesting.
  3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No, I like the way it is.
  4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? Cheerleaders. I think this time there were more cheerleaders and I received more support than previous years.
  5. How many books did you read? 3
  6. What were the names of the books you read? Reading and writing by V.S Naipaul, James joyce a portrait of a Dubliner by Alfonso Zapico and All my friends are superheroes by Andrew Kaufman.
  7. Which book did you enjoy most? All my friends are superheroes by Andrew Kaufman.
  8. Which did you enjoy least? All of them were great :)
  9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? Puff, in my case, I was sooooooooo excited to cheer that I was checking blogs all the time. I think it would be wiser to have spent that time reading and then, when I was tired of reading, check out blogs and not the other way roung.
  10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Reader and cheerleader :)
That was it. I hope you guys have had a great time and you've read wonderful books :)

Dewey's read-a-thon: Hour 23

Hey guys!!! :)

Are you still there??? Here in Spain is 12:27 p.m so it's the perfect time to read. This morning I decided to go to bed and sleep 8 hours. I woke up at 10 o'clock ready to read more books.

I've managed to finish this one

788572

I really enjoyed it, but the ending of the book although I liked it it let me dissatisfied and I ended up giving it 3 starts.

I hope, you guys, having a good day and you're enjoying with your books :)

Dewey's read-a-thon: Hour 12

hey guys!!!

How are you feeling right now??? I'm tired because here in Spain is 1:37 a.m, but I'm going to stay a little bit :)

Mid-Event Survey

1. What are you reading right now? All my friends are superheroes by Andrew Kaufman. I'm really really enjoying it so far.
2. How many books have you read so far? 2: Reading and Writing by V.S. Naipaul and James Joyce the portrait of a Dubliner by Alfonso Zapico. I really liked both of them.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Joyce's route by Alfonso Zapico, the second part of James Joyce the portrait of a Dubliner. Really curious about it.
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? No, really
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? No, I'm used to dedicate a day just for reading, so it wasn't difficult for me to stop or carry on reading.
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? I've read two books and the one which I expected to take me hours I read quite quickly and the one which I expected to read quickly because it was a graphic novel took me a lot of time to finish it.
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No, I like the way it is
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year? As a reader not to be so excited because that didn't let me focus at the beginning and as a cheerleader to wait to people post stuff. It was the first hour and I was already checking blogs.
9. Are you getting tired yet? Yes, I am, but I'm going to wait a little bit more before going to bed
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? Mmm I don't know :(

Deweys' read-a-thon: Hour 9

Hey guys!!! :)

How is it going??? For me this read-a-thon is being a bit strange. I picked up Reading and writing by Naipaul which I thought it'd take me hours to finish it and I read it quite quickly. Then, I picked up James Joyce, portrait of a Dubliner by Alfonso Zapico because it was a graphic novel so I thought I would read it quickly, it took me hours, but in the end I finished it and I liked it. So, I'm happy now :D

Dewey's read-a-thon: Hour 3

Hi everyone!!! :)

how the things are going so far??? In my case I've already read one book :) I didn't expect that. I picked up Reading and writing by V.S. Naipaul to see what it was about and I realised that I had read 25 % if it. I really liked it although there were parts they weren't related to read and write that I didn't enjoy, but, overall I really liked it :)
Reading and Writing: A Personal Account

Dewey's read-a-thon: Hour 0

Hey guys!!! :)

How is it going? :) I hope you all OK and ready for  Dewey's read-a-thon. Yuppie!!! :D

This year I've decided to read and also to be a cheerleader. So, if you're participating, maybe, we'll meet. I can't wait to see what, you guys, are reading and tell you that you're doing great (I'm sure you are :))

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I'm reading from Spain and since it's a cloudy day it's perfect to stay at home and reading :)

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? La ruta Joyce (Joyce's route) by Alfonso Zapico. In the book the author goes to the places Joyce lived and collect information about him. It sounds really interesting and it's a graphic novel, so I hope to read it quite quickly :)

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? This year I've decided to eat as usual. Maybe I eat chocolate, but since I put on weight, I've trying to eat healthier. So, yes, nothing in particular.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm Spanish, I'm an English teacher and now I'm trying to become a writer.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

Apart from the food, this year I'll be a cheerleader. I can't wait to read what others I'm reading and cheer them :D

Are you participating in the read-a-thon? let me know in the comments and I'll visit you.

I hope you have a great time.

Happy reading!!! :D

Let's play a game: On my shelf

Hey guys!!! :)

Today I want to share with you On my shelf game. It was created by the author Iain Broome and some booktubers have already made it. In her video, Marlinelina gave some numbers which you can play with. So I decided to write them down and see what books I found. The numbers were: 7/7, 5/14, 3/2, 2/8 and 6/11. The first number is the shelf where you have to look and the second number is the book you have to find.

Here is the result of all that :)

Hi everyone!!! :)
Happy New Year!!! :D Yes, it's been a while since I haven't posted anything :'( but today I said to me: what the heck! So here I'm to share with you the books I'm currently reading.

Last week I finished 2 books:

322007
Asking for trouble by Elizabeth Young. I really loved this book. It was funny and enjoyable. I read it quite quickly because the story was engaging. The book has a film adaptation The Wedding Date which I also loved it :)
7014834

Chocolate Galore by Caroline Barty. This book is a book of recipes which I found quite interesting. In it you can find a great variety of chocolate recipes: cupcakes, cakes, biscuits. Mmm yummy :)
