Top Ten Books that Feature Travel in Some Way

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish
Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my favourite books which feature travel in some way. I thought this would be interesting since I love books in which main characters travel because they are exchange students, they need to find themselves or just simply because they want to go on holiday. First, I tried to remember which books, from the books I'd read, main characters travel and I couldn't think more than 3. I thought this was going to be a very short list, but thanks to Goodreads I realised I had read far more books related to travel I'd thought. Thanks Goodreads!!! :D

So, here they are

Because I told you so.

Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. Her father forces Anna to go to Paris and spend one year there. She hates it at the beginning.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

The statistical probability of love at the first sight by Jennifer E. Smith. In this case her father forces Hayle to visit him in London. She is not pleased about it, but then when she is going to take her plane, something happens.

Querida Susi, querido Paul
Dear Susi, dear Paul by Christine Nöstlinger. Susi and Paul are classmates, but then Paul's father is offered a job in Vienna and Paul has to move. I can't remember if Susi lives in Austria or in Germany. The thing is they can't see each other frequently because the distance is quite big, so they start to write letters to each other. (yes, there wasn't Internet at that time ;)) . This is one is my favourite book when I was a child. I've read it several times. I highly recommend it to you :)

Epic Fail
Epic fail by Claire LaZebnik. It's been a while since I've read this book, but if I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong, main character has to move to another place because her father has offered a better job in another place. I had the impression main character is not pleased with the idea, but she doesn't care much. She is happy where her family is.

I need to find myself

The Second Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood, #2)
The sisterhood of the travelling pants by Ann Brashares. In the second book in the series Bridget goes to grandma's house and try to understand her family better. She has changed a lot and now she's trying to find herself again.

An Abundance of Katherines

An abundance of Katherines  by John Green. Colin has just had an awful break up, so his friend convinces him to take his car and travel.

Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1)At Last (Lucky Harbor, #5)Simply Irresistible and At last by Jill Shalvis. Both characters have had awful experiences and they try to rid out of their past and start over. Lucky Harbour is the perfect place to lose and find yourself.

Time Travels

Austenland (Austenland, #1)

Austenland by Shannon Hale. The main character of this book is in love with Mr Darcy, so her aunt gives the present to know him in person. She put her things in a suitcase and from New York she travels to England to live as a Jane Austen's character.

Plötzlich Shakespeare

Suddenly Shakespeare by David Safier. A magician finds the main character very sad because her boyfriend has just left her. So the magician casts a spell and she finds herself in England (she is from Germany) and she is SHAKESPEARE!!! :O

Just for the pleasure of travelling

Vision of New York by Carmen Martin Gaite. I think she has to travel to New York because she has a conference. Once there she visits museums. go to concerts and she glues the tickets and everything she finds and makes a scrapbook about her experience in New York. Very lovely book.

Well this is my books. Do we have the same? Share with me in the comments :)

  1. Anna and the Sisterhood both made my list, too. I just started the Statistical Probability. Austenland sounds cute. Great list!

I recommend you Austenland, I really liked it. I have the second book in the series waiting for me on my shelf. (Don't worry there are only two books)
