Book beginnings: Duchess of Bloomsbury Street by Helene Hanff

                                        hosted by: Rose City Reader

Hi everyone!!! :)

Last week I posted the first lines of 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff (check here if you want to read the first lines) and today I bring the first lines of the continuation of that book, Duchess of Bloomsbury Street.

Duchess of Bloomsbury Street
"            UP, UP AND AWAY

Theoretically, it was one of the happiest days of my life. The date was Thursday , June 1971; the BOAC lifted from Kennedy airport promptly at 10 A.M.; the sky was blue and sunny, and after a lifetime of waiting I was finally on my way to London"

I love this cover, it's really pretty and I love the book so far. This time is written in diary format and for me it's really entertaining and funny. I think Helene Hanff was such a character and I'm going to read more books by her for sure.

So, what do you think of this books? Have you read it? Do you like it? Let me know in the comments! :)
