Anna of Avonlea in Book Beginnings + The Friday 56

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today I'm sharing with you the beginning and the page 56 of this book

Anne of Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables, #2)

" 1

   An Irate Neighbour

A tall, slim girl, "half-past sixteen," with serious grey eyes and hair which her friends called auburn, had sat down on the broad read sandstone doorstep of a Prince Edward Island farmhouse one ripe afternoon in August, firmly resolved to construe so many lines of Virgil."

"we're going to be real good friends if we make plenty of allowances for each other, and everything has turned out for the best."

I like the beginning of the book a lot. It's how I imagine Anne and the author, L.M. Montgomery, makes an excellent work in the way she connects the end of  the previous book (the first book in the series) and the beginning of this second book.

I've tried not to give away too much when I shared the the page 56, that's why, maybe, you don't like it or you don't understand it quite well, but anyway, I like this second book and I think the series should be read because they're interesting and very well-written. I think they deserve more attention.

So, what so you think of Anna of Avonlea? Do you like it or do you like more the first book? Let me know in the comments and share with me your beginnings and your 56 pages :)

    1. I think I like this more than the 1st one or at least in a different way. Anne is great not only as a kid, but also as a teenager :)

  3. This a series I have not read, but I would absolutely love too! I have to admit that I broke my rule of watching the TV series adaptation ( which I own and adore) before ever reading any of the books!! Thanks for your post - I am definitely going to read this series now :)

    1. You're welcome :)

Don't be so hard on you. When I was a child, I watched the two TV films. I remember loving them very much and that's why I've decided to read the books. Plus I love romance stories ;)

  4. I've read these books many times, and it is so telling that her friends call her hair auburn, if you know anything about Anne. <3
