So today I'm going to do two memes: Book Beginnings and Friday 56 and I'm going to use the same book which is what I'm reading right now :)
How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading.
So the first two lines of the book are:
"First of all, it was October,a rare moth for boys. Not that months aren't rare?"
Wow! What a start! hahahaa I really love it :) He continues explaining so I really like the beginning, it's kind of peculiar, but the book I'm not loving it as much as expected, but we'll see.
How it works:
Grab a book, any book, turn to page 56 or 56% in your ereader, find
any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grabs you and post it.
So, now I'm going to take the same book and share with you a sentence on page 56. Here is the sentence
" No Mirror Maze" Will swallowed"
Well, it was a bit difficult to find a sentence which was long and not telling much on this page.
The book has interesting creatures and places, although I expected to be more hooked on the story and this is not happening :(
Well, this is me, but what about you?
I haven't read this one...but I'm curious. Great excerpts!
ReplyDeleteHere's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
Thanks! :) Although I am not enjoying reading it as much as I expected :(
DeleteI'm trying to picture a mirror maze... man, that would be exciting!
ReplyDeleteYes! :D
DeleteI've never read this one because I feared it would be too scarey!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the opening on Book Beginnings!
As always, it was a pleasure :)
DeleteI haven't finished it yet, but so far it is not very scary.
I don't think this book is my cup of tea. I hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWell, for me it's a bit boring although it has a lot of strange creatures and great characters. If you like the circus and witches, dwarves and stuff like that, I suppose, you would like it.
DeleteHmmm....not sure what he means by that.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha you will have to find out ;)
DeleteI've read some of Ray Bradbury's writings but not this one. My husband probably has it on his bookshelf, however, so I'll give it a try.
ReplyDeletePlease do it, just because I am not enjoying it very much, doesn't mean you can't read it :)
DeleteI hope you like it.
What a great opening line! This book is already on my TBR list but I haven't found a copy yet. It looks weird and good at the same time. Too bad you're not enjoying it as much as you'd thought. Books are like that some times. I'm not sure how I'll like it either. I still want to read it though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I really loved the beginning and some parts, but now I am a bit tired of waiting something happens :(
DeleteI thought this was an Agatha Christie when I saw the title! I STILL havent read any Bradbury! :) Must do something about it :)

Yes, it could have been a book written by Agatha Christie :)
DeleteI recommend you Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Very peculiar book and the most strange thing is what he invented 50 years ago is happening now.
It is not a sentence that is a real grabber, but it makes you curious nevertheless. Did you enjoy it?
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
